1956 Cadillac Fleetwood

29 Jun

New day, new car! Today We will have a look on one of the real classic American automobile brands, Cadillac. Cadillac was founded by the American engineer and entrepreneur Henry Martyn Leland in 1903. He named the company after the French explorer and founder of Detroit, Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac. The first Cadillac, Model A Runabout, was practically identical with the 1903 Ford Model A. Henry Ford had been involved with the designing of this model before founding the Henry Ford Company. In 1909 Cadillac was bought by General Motors who turned Cadillac in to a luxury brand. Fleetwood was designated as the flagship model when it was first introduced and continued in that position for a number of decades, it was manufactured between 1947 and 1996.

This green beauty from 1956 made a trip to Mariefred on Ångans dag 2011 and posed for the visitors and my camera.
